True Vacc Water-ring vacuum pumps are rotary pumps using water as sealing fluid.  It basically consists of cylindrical casing with control disc on either sides.  Inside this consists an eccentrically located balanced impeller with curved blades.  The liquid introduced is set into rotary motion by impeller forming a water ring concentric with casing.  Cells formed between the blades and the ring vary in volume from maximum to minimum with each revolution.  The suction medium enters this space through the opening in control disc & are then compressed out through the exhaust pipe alongwith the sealing liquid. The motor is coupled to the pump by means of a flexible coupling, Special Construction of this coupling and the use of specially selected materials ensures smooth and quiet running of the pump.           The rotor is mounted eccentrically in the pump cylinders. The Three radilly sliding sliding vanes divide the pump chambers into three sections. Due to rapid rotation of the rotor the vanes are forced to slide against the cylender walls by means of centrifugal force. the pumping isbrought about by alternately increasing and decreasing the volume of the working spacewhich is of crescent shape in cross section. the component parts as the pump are sealed by Viton 'O' Rings. All parts are pinned to ensure easy disassembling and reassembling.

As the impeller rotate the liquid is thrown by centrifugal force to from a liquid ring which is concentric with the periphery of the casing. Due to the eccentric position of the impeller relative to the casing and liquid ring, the spaces between the impeller vanes fill with liquid during rotation and any air or gas trapped in the impeller space or cell is compressed and discharged from the casing through the outlet part leaving the cell available to receive air or gas as it is presented to the inlet port of the casing. In addition to being the compressing medium the liquid-ring performs three other important functions. It absorbs the heat generated by compression and friction.
