The H.D.T V.S.P Apparatus offered by us is widely used as Heat deflection Testers and Vicat softening Point. This apparatus is essentially used to test the variations in the temperature & softening point of the specimen used. Available in various models with a number of stations, these apparatus are manufactured as per the ASTM D 1525 & D648 standards.

The HDT/VSP instrument is used for determining the deflection temperature limit for specific application and comparing the heat softening characteristics of thermoplastic material at a constant load in oil upto 300 Deg. Co.cPlastic materials being heat sensitive in nature has a lot of bearing on its thermal environment for it's performance. Though their behaviour in thermal conditions is very complex some simple yeild tests are used to predict it's behaviour and performance in a given condition. "VICAT SOFTENING POINT" or "HEAT DISTORTION TEMPERATURE" is one of such yeild points very commonly employed with such demanding applications. Vicat test consist of penetrating a unit size indentor in a plastic surface with predefind load under constant rate of environmental temperaturerise. Heat distorsion test, as it is sometimes called, consistes of deflecting a simply supported beam of test material under similar heating conditions & with a predefined stress application.HDTTest for deflection temperature of plastics under flexural load. Heat distoration temp. is the temp. At which a sample deflacts by 0.1 inch. (2.5 mm). Standart test methods: ASTM D648, BS 2782 method 102, ISO R75.VSTVicat softening point is the temperature at which the needle penetrates 1 mm into the sample. Vicat needle apparatus, Consist of a metallic frame bearing a movable rod with cap at one end and a AIC-VMLD-8070. VICAT MOULDS having 80±5mm Dia at the base 70±5mm Dia at the top and 40±0.2mm high and with a glass base plate, consistency plunger, initial and final setting needles in a nice plastic case. Complete with dashpot to facilitate the gentle lowering of the needle.

The apparatus consists essentially of a mechanism of four different stepper motors, which control the sliding weight with needle, the rotation and displacement of the table and the chart drum. The displacement of the sliding weight with needle is recorded by a pen in the chart drum and also read by an encoder for the data acquisition. The automation of the system is obtained by an electronic control chard with microprocessor. The front control panel includes the membrane keyboard with large graphic display.
