Check Valves
Check Valves or non-return valve, allows the fluid to pass in one direction only. A ball check valve is a check valve in which the closing member, the movable part to block the flow, is a spherical ball. In some ball check valves, the ball is spring-loaded to help keep it shut. A diaphragm check valve uses a flexing rubber diaphragm positioned to create a normally-closed valve. Pressure on the upstream side must be greater than the pressure on the downstream side by a certain amount, known as the pressure differential, for the check valve to open allowing flow. Once positive pressure stops, the diaphragm automatically flexes back to its original closed position. A swing check valve or tilting disc check valve is check valve in which the disc, the movable part to block the flow, swings on a hinge or trunnion, either onto the seat to block reverse flow or off the seat to allow forward flow. The seat opening cross-section may be perpendicular to the centerline between the two ports or at an angle. Although swing check valves can come in various sizes, large check valves are often swing check valves. A stop-check valve is a check valve with override control to stop flow regardless of flow direction or pressure. In addition to closing in response to backflow or insufficient forward pressure (normal check-valve behavior), it can also be deliberately shut by an external mechanism, thereby preventing any flow regardless of forward pressure. A lift-check valve is a check valve in which the disc, sometimes called a lift, can be lifted up off its seat by higher pressure of inlet or upstream fluid to allow flow to the outlet or downstream side. A guide keeps motion of the disc on a vertical line, so the valve can later reseat properly. When the pressure is no longer higher, gravity or higher downstream pressure will cause the disc to lower onto its seat, shutting the valve to stop reverse flow.

Ball Valves
Ball valve opens by turning a handle attached to a ball inside the valve. The ball has a hole, or port, through the middle, so that when the port is in line with both ends of the valve, flow will occur. When the valve is closed, the hole is perpendicular to the ends of the valve, and flow is blocked. The ball, which can make a quarter turn (90°) around the spin axis, is the on/off control of the Ball valve. Ball valves in the piping are used to cut, distribute and change the flow direction of the fluid. If the opening were designed to be V-shaped, it would also have the excellent function of flow control. Ball valves, which need a little rotating force and turn a quarter, can be closed tightly. The completely equal lumen provides a littler-resistance "green passage". Ball valve not only has the advantages of simplicity in system structure and good performance in sealing Properties, but also smaller in size, less in weight, less material, smaller dimension, less drive torque, easy-operating, easy-repaired, can be applied to general media, such as water, solvent, acid and natural gas. It still can be used in poor working conditions, such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, ethylene and so on. The body of ball valves can be a whole or a combined one. Ball valves are widely used, the demand of quantity is still growing up, and the current trend is to develop high-temperature, high pressure, heavy caliber, high tightness, long life-span, excellent adjusting performance and multi-function valves. The reliability and other performance indexes are all reached a comparable high level, and ball valves have partly replaced gate valves, globe valves and throttle valves. Due to the outstanding advantages of the ball valves, it has been widely used in the areas of aerospace, Petroleum, long-distance pipeline, light industry and food industry, construction and so on.
