Disc Vortex Vertical tillage Bellota has launched a new disc with curved tangential waves for vertical tillage – that is to say, to work the soil without turning it over, to avoid mixing the various layers of soil. The design of the waves on this disc has been studied in detail to cut the crop residue vertically, thus improving the cut and incorporating the stubble better into the soil. On the surface, you achieve a good cut and an ideal mix of the organic residue, thus protecting the soil from erosion. But under the soil you obtain a soil well prepared for planting, completely oxygenated and aerated to allow roots to grow in perfect conditions. This system is also a good choice for improving control. Bellota has three models in this range of discs designed for vertical tillage, which is also referred to as strip-till.

Chisel assembly for Vineyards With a stronger clamp The chisel assembly has been especially designed for cultivators that are used for work in vineyards. It is designed to be assembled in an 80x80 frame with chisel tines of a 30x30 or 35x35 profile. The assembly of model 12466-V-AF is much stronger, which makes it safer and it means that it can withstand greater force. This chisel assembly for vineyards is ideal to till the soil to a maximum of 30 cm deep. The Bellota chisel assemblies are easy to set up because there is no need to dismantle any of the parts to assemble it or take it apart. Moreover the chisel assembly has an anti-turning system that prevents the nuts and bolts shifting or loosening later on in the field. As the sockets are nylon, there is no need to lubricate them, so less maintenance work has to be done on them. Furthermore, in all the models there is a tube that protects the spring for maximum safety. Bellota also supplies two different chisel assembly models for cultivators with a 100x100 frame and 80x80 frame, which can be used with the chisel tines of different profiles for the toughest ploughing and tilling jobs of up to 45 cm deep.

Duratop cultivator sweeps Welding and widia Duratop cultivator sweeps, is the result of a mixture of the best materials Bellota already utilizes with special new anti-wear carbon based materials, which, together with complex controlled industrial joining processes, converts them into more robust and very long lasting pieces of cultivator sweeps. The industrial process guarantees optimum hardness of both the base material and the added material, making it possible to offer a product with a minimum wear in the zones joining both materials, thus making them even more durable. The process of joining the disc to the base piece with the most advanced technology, called Brazing, guarantees a long life of the Duratop cultivator sweeps, which, depending on terrain conditions, can be up to 10 times longer than conventional pieces. The Duratop cultivator sweeps series are based on two different processes: 1) Contributions: The critical work zones of each cultivator sweeps are studied in detail and high wear-resistant material is added with complex and controlled industrial welding processes according to the work demands each piece is going to bear. 2) Widia: The tungsten-carbide inserts on the cultivator sweeps, have optimum wear- durability - tenacity performance to endure the severest work conditions.

Cultivator points Integral heat treatment, guarantee of long life Characteristics: •Boron steel. •Hardness: 50 ± 2 HRc. •Integral hardening to avoid deformations and rupture. •Product uniformity guaranted by strict controls on quality and the production process. Use: The cultivator points work parallel to the ground, cutting the roots and raising the plants, working to pull without upsetting the soil’s contour. The thin, long cultivator points cultivate by breaking the hardened soil and crushing clods.

Chisel tines High elasticity and recovery of the initial geometry Characteristics: •Special, high elasticity steel with high capacity to recover initial geometry. •Specific integral heat treatment that provides each material with optimum characteristics. Use: •Working in dry soil is recommended. •A working depth of from 18-22 cm is recommended. •The recommended power is between 25 and 40 hp per metre of working width. •Working speed should be high (7 to 9 km/h) to improve efficiency.

AKER disc blade Excellent soil preparation. The new AKER disc blade from Bellota is a specially-designed disc for ploughing the soil and preparing the seed bed, with excellent stubble cutting capability in all soil types. The Bellota disc blade is designed with eighteen tangential waves that produce excellent cutting capability with minimum vertical force. The number of waves and their height ensure that the ploughed strip of soil is greater than with other disc blades and consequently, the effective seeding depth is enhanced. This effect also encourages new roots to grow because they accelerate the mineralisation process of organic material around the seed.  This disc blade, provides very good penetration even with severe ground conditions and is also suitable for operating with high seeding rates.  Bellota provides a wide range of diameters:  All AKER disc blade models are designed with eighteen waves for improved furrows and the central plate is 220 mm.  The AKER disc blade is available in the various hole-configurations for seeding hubs.

LUR disc for disc harrows Aggressive tillage     LUR discs have been devised to carry out tillage aggressively and energetically to shred and mix even the most resistant waste with disc harrows. They penetrate more deeply into dry soils than into normal soils, a working depth ranging from 15 to 25 cm being considered advisable. However, they are also highly effective at a shallower depth when ploughing and tilling in wet soils.It is advisable to assemble these disc harrows helicoidally in each socket (as the hole is square, it is simply a question of turning one position with respect to the preceding disc) in order to put the rotation of the assembly to best use, to work at a greater speed than usual and to till well. 

Seed disc opener assemblies Precise sowing Disc for seed drills need to work with great precision, positioning the seed with minimum distortion of the soil. This means that for seed drills, the uniformity of their seed disc opener assemblies and discs is of primordial importance.      To be able to 100% guarantee both planarity and pitch of the seed disc opener assemblies, BELLOTA has taken out a worldwide patent on a new machine. The JENIMAK machine measures with huge accuracy and speed; pitch is measured continuously, while planarity is recorded at six different points on the seed disc opener assemblies. That is how we can guarantee the quality and uniformity of all our disc seed disc opener assemblies, without having to worry about humans making measurement errors. In addition to all this, the eccentricity of the seed disc opener assemblies is also analysed. Use: •Working in dry (friable) soil is recommended and they are very suitable for seedbed preparation in non-demanding crops (for example, barley and wheat etc). •A maximum working depth of between 15 and 25 cm is recommended •The required power is between 19 and 23 hp/m

Spiral track looseners High elasticity and recovery of the initial geometry   To air the compact soil that has been pressed down by the weight of the tractor wheels, two spiral track looseners are usually fitted on the cultivators and these are normally double coil tines. The shape of the spiral track looseners is very different according to each model of cultivator. These spiral track looseners are fitted at the front of the cultivators and normally a small profile is used because not a lot of tillage is required.

All the parts of the chisel assembly are made of top quality materials that guarantee minimum maintenance work for the assembly. However, elements can get lost in the fields, which is why Bellota supplies all the parts of the chisel assembly separately just in case they need to be replaced.

  In this section you will find discs for disc harrow and disc tilling in a wide variety of concave forms and sizes. Bellota conducts very strict quality checks, guaranteeing that its discs for disc harrow will all be totally uniform, which means that any work you do with them will be excellent. The right hardness ensures the ideal level of flexibility and toughness to absorb impacts without breakage, and yet at the same time to resist the most abrasive soil conditions. All this guarantees that the discs pass the toughness test known as “the ball test,” which assesses their resistance to fracture. Bellota discs for disc harrow were the first discs manufactured out of boron steel, guaranteeing them a perfect balance between hardness and toughness, which means maximum breakage-free service life.

  The new methods of tilling are aimed at burying only a part of the residual crop on the surface, allowing the rest to provide a protective layer. A well placed forward and lateral inclination of tines fluffs up soil, making it more porous while at the same time keeping the surface intact and improving the circulation of water and oxygenation in the soil, thus favouring root growth and plant development, in the final analysis achieving better yields at harvest time. In contrast to the more old-fashioned subsoilers, this method cuts the soil with less resistance and the soil ends up with a practically flat ground surface fully ready for sowing.
