Shaft And Bearings: The main shaft is of suitable steel and is amply proportioned to withstand the loads imposed on it by the centrifugal forces caused by all normal uneven distribution of the charge in the basket. The bearings supporting the main shaft are heavy duty ball/roller bearings which have a statistical life of 25000 or more running hours. These bearings are grease lubricated. Grease retainers are fitted to ensure long lubricating intervals. Drive System: The drive system consists of a 415V/3 Ph/50Hz squirrel cage induction TEFC electric motor which drives the basket through V-belts. The motor is mounted at the basket casing (outer drum) and there is provision for tensioning the belts. All models are fitted with Centrifugal clutch pulley at the motor shaft. The Tubular Centrifuge comprises of bowl, specially designed slow acceleration motor & starter. The bowl rotates at 15000 r.m.p. generating a centrifugal force of 16000 times the gravitational force. The liquid mixture to be separated enters the nozzle of the centrifuge placed at the bottom of the base. The centrifugal force acts on the liquid entering and separates the two liquids according to their specific gravities. The lighter liquid forms the inside layer and heavier liquid forms the outer layer. Since the mixture is entering continuously in the bowl, two phases are discharged continuously from two separate outlets provided on the top portion of the machine. During clarification job, one discharge of clarified liquid is possible. Solids accumulated inside the bowl can be removed manually after stopping the machine.
