It is a skid-mounted unit consisting of freon chiller, air to air pre-cooler and a moisture separator. First air is pre-cooled with outgoing chilled air to around 25° c and then it is cooled in a freon chiller to (+) 2° c temperature. This reduces refrigeration load of the unit. Outgoing dry air has (+) 2° c pressure dew point and comes out at around 25° c temperature. (+) 2°c dew point in refrigerated air dryers corresponds to around (-) 23°c atmospheric pressure dew point. Lower dew point is not possible from refrigerated dryer, as moisture condensed would start freezing on freon tubes, if lower dew points are tried.1

Working Principle Rotary Double Cone Vacuum Dryers Raw material is charged in batches & is subjected to indirect heating while at the same time undergoing rotary motion of the cone assembly. Inside are several heating plates mounted one above the other on which the product is placed in trays .The Top of both heating plates (Shelves) and the bottom of heating shelves trays should be as smooth as possible to permit optimal heat transfer between plates and product. The medium flowing through the heating plates is water, steam, or thermal oil. The distance between the heating plates is determined primarily by the surface loading and the foaming of the product. To avoid retrograde condensation, the cabinet walls are indirectly preheated by limpet coil provided on the outer side of the body (Optional). Only after all the product trays reach the same temperature, the cabinet is evacuated and drying can start. (The preheating phase is very important in order that the drying curve and the foaming of product are identical throughout the cabinet). During the main drying phase the vacuum is in the range of 40 to 80 mbar abs and in the final drying phase vacuum of only few mbar abs are reached. Fluid Bed Processing involves fast drying, cooling and agglomeration of particulate materials. It is ideal for heat sensitive and non heat sensitive products in Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Biochemical, Food and Dairy Industries. The Fluid Bed Dryer have a bed of solid particles which are fluidized by passing a stream of air upward through a specially designed perforated sheet. Compressed air coming from the Receiver containing solid, liquid & vapour contaminants enters the Dryer through the Pre-filter (where solid & liquid contaminants are removed). It then passes through Oil Removal Filter and enters into Adsorption Tower A1 through a 3-way valve (CV-1) where it gets dried and then passes out of the Dryer through the After-filter. A part of this dry air passes through Tower A2 through the Purge Control Valve, where it picks up the moisture from the adsorbent thereby regenerating it and making it ready for the adsorption cycle. The purge air exhausts out of the Dryer through Purge Exhaust Valve (CV-2) of Tower A2.
