The Liquid Oxygen Pump is a single acting piston pump. They are used for filling Oxygen into Cylinders up to a pressure of 165 kgs. /cm2. The pump is designed for assembly in air separationunit. They work by pumping liquid Oxygen to the Heat Exchangers which turns the liquid to gas to be filled in the Cylinders. The pump is designed in accordance with the plant size and the liquid produced is constantly pumped off hence there is no need to control of liquid feed. The drive unit is similar to any reciprocating machine with the Crank Shaft, Flywheel, Connecting Rod, Cross Head, etc. Features : Highest Safety. You can use some nitrogen in start of refining and then argon after that to reduce cost. 12 • argon being neutral gas & non reactive and being used all over the world for purging in steel making operations in secondary steel making. 13 • upper limit for nitrogen ppm varies from grade to grade. 14 • nitrogen is innert gas, there is no chemical reaction with steel. 15 • argon and nitrogen both are considered to be inert gases to be used as purging agents in ladle & furnace. However, you have to be careful while using nitrogen as a purging gas for those steel grades that contains elements like ti, nb, v etc. Which have strong affinity for nitrogen.
