a) Shell Retraction: The Horizontal Leaf Filter consists of a Horizontal Cylindrical vessel with special bayonet wedged lock closure & Viton seal. The retractable filter shell is mounted on 4 external wheel assemblies and retraction is accomplished by hydraulic cylinder. All sensitive nozzles are mounted on fixed dish and no need to disconnect any piping during cleaning operation. To open & close wedge lock, filter is equipped with 2 Nos of powerful hydraulic cylinders connected with hydraulic power pack. 5 ply filter leaves construction in SS 316 L SS 316 with bottom drain nozzles are mounted on central outlet manifold & clamped with common shaft on top for fixing leafs. Once the filtration is completed, the filter is drained & filtered cake is dried with steam. Dried cake is dislodged manually by scrapping after retraction of shell.

The Drum Flaker, Drum Dryer and Rotary Vacuum Drum Filter (RVDF) are three finely manufactured sophisticated machines that are easy to operate and reduce the overheads tremendously. They are very useful in the long run and are easily installed without much investment and hassle.In Drum Flaker, one end of the drum is connected to a gearbox, which is driven by a motor. The cooling water is circulated in the drum during operation. The drum operates at a low speed and the fed liquid in the bottom tray is picked by the drum surface and cooled to less than the melting point of the material, thus forming flakes on the surface. Band Paper Filter” is an endless sturdy metal-jointed band conveyor, fitted to form a semicircular loop between two rotating disc wheels.The filter paper is inserted between the Disc Wheels and the tensioned conveyor. The medium to be filtered is introduced into the tank through the central inlet pipe.By positioning the pipe centrally, the medium to be filtered can be received directly from the machine by gravity into the filter unit. The structure does not require a lift pump.

Iron can be removed from water, either in its soluble form or insoluble form. As soluble ferrous ions, iron removal can be carried out by the following process : (1) Ion exchange using a metal selective (chelating) strong acid cation resin. (2) Reverse osmosis provided the total iron in the feed water is < 0.05 mg/l. There are several main types of processes that can achieve removal of total iron from water, via its insoluble forms : (1) Chemical oxidation - Strong oxidants such as ozone, hydrogen peroxide and chlorine can be dosed to fully oxidise soluble iron to insoluble ferric hydroxide for its removal by clarification or filtration. (2) Media adsorption - Various active medias can be used in presence of chlorine which acts as catalyse for oxidation reactions. The media also serves to filter out the suspended particles of ferric hydroxide produced. (3) pH adjustment - The pH can be adjusted to above 8 by aeration and/or dosing caustic. Flocculation is then carried out to maximise particle size, before removal by either clarification or filtration. The above processes are all capable of achieving total iron reductions down to the 0.3 mg/l limit set for potable water.
