It is a skid-mounted unit consisting of freon chiller, air to air pre-cooler and a moisture separator. First air is pre-cooled with outgoing chilled air to around 25° c and then it is cooled in a freon chiller to (+) 2° c temperature. This reduces refrigeration load of the unit. Outgoing dry air has (+) 2° c pressure dew point and comes out at around 25° c temperature. (+) 2°c dew point in refrigerated air dryers corresponds to around (-) 23°c atmospheric pressure dew point. Lower dew point is not possible from refrigerated dryer, as moisture condensed would start freezing on freon tubes, if lower dew points are tried.1

The main ingredient of Oxygen Plant is ZMS (ZEOLITE MOLECULER SIEVE) and ZMS is having indefinite pores on the surface, which adsorb the molecules of Nitrogen, Moisture and Unwanted gases from compressed air. Oxygen gas, which is not adsorbed into the surface of ZMS comes out from adsorbed tower and collects in the surge vessel.

We are offering internally heated air dryer. The drying unit has 2-vessels filled with activated alumina or molecular sieves desiccant. One vessel remains in drying cycle for 4 hours, while other vessel simultaneously regenerates at atmospheric pressure. Around 3% flow of dryer capacity is used as purge for regeneration. Electrical heaters are provided in a central finned stainless steel pipe in both drying vessels. Heating cycle is for 2 hours and in this time hot purge air increases desiccant temperature to around 1000c. At this temperature regeneration is complete (due to dry air purge). Dew point achieved is around (-) 400 c. If still lower dew point is required, air purging rate is slightly increased to 5% for (-) 600 c and to 7.5% for (-) 800 c dew point.

Our ammonia cracker produces mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen, which is mostly used for heat treatment furnace. Ammonia cracking takes place in presence of nickel catalyst at 8500 c temperature and cracks ammonia to n2 + h2 mixture containing 75% hydrogen and remaining 25% nitrogen. The cracked ammonia gas contains around 80 ppm un-cracked ammonia impurities and its dew point is only (-) 300 c.
