Aqueous pastes remains one of our largest business products. Following are the qualities of this important product for paint manufacturers Aqueous Pastes are highly concentrated water based pigment dispersions suitable for tinting of decorative water based paints. They contain non ionic and anionic wetting agents and dispersing agents. These are hydrophilic and mix readily into aqueous media to form stable dispersions. They have high tinting strength and are easy to use. The pastes have excellent stability, flowability and compatibility with various water based decorative paints. APPLICATION of aqueous pastes is as follows: Their main application is the colouration of synthetic resin emulsion paints. They are also highly compatible with the new emulsion based paint systems. Aqueous Pastes are available in a range of standard colours from Yellow, Orange, Red, Violet, Blue, Green and Black. Specific customised shades can be offered for large requirements.

Of the various important additives required in paints, defoamers form an integral component. DEFOAMERS: A defoamer is a chemical additive that reduces and hinders the formation of foam. In industrial processes, foams pose serious problems. They cause defects on surface coatings. Foam is a persistent challenge when formulating waterborne paints and coatings. During production, foam can reduce milling or grinding efficiency and lower product density, which can lead to increased production time and energy costs, incorrect filling of production vessels and problems during the packaging of the finished material. Foam can also create problems during application by reducing the transfer efficiency of the product during the application process or creating surface defects in the dry film that reduce both the protective and aesthetic qualities of the finished surface. The various types of defoamers we deal in are also listed below. 1. ICE D 50: Blend of modified nonionic fatty compounds, hydrophobic silica and hydrocarbons, in emulsion form. Active ingredients- Approx. 50 % Main applications -Architectural coatings -Emulsion plasters -Adhesives Normal dosage ranges from 0.1 - 0.5 % on finished product. 2. ICE D 70: ICE D 70 is a liquid defoamer, economical in use, for universal water based applications. The product shows very good long-term efficiency. Active Matter: 99 - 100% ICE D 70 is specially recommended for systems with good emulsifying properties, such as surfactant stabilized emulsions and emulsion paints. ICE D 70 is based on oil/wax components with a small addition of a special silicone. Excellent Stability - best reproducibility Low emulsifiability - provides long term water effectiveness - decreased water sensitivity and increased scrub resistance. In general on adding a rate of 0.2 - 0.5% ICE D 70, calculated on the total quantity of the paint system, will give excellent results. DISPERSING AGENTS A dispersing agent is either a non-surface active polymer or a surface-active substance added to a suspension, usually a colloid, to improve the separation of particles and to prevent settling or clumping. Dispersants consist normally of one or more surfactants.
