Waste bunker door
The doors are a vital part of the bunker and have to resist the harsh treatment of refuse delivery. Depending on the conditions, they can be constructed as a swinging, or lifting type. Due to their solid construction, the doors are highly suitable for stacking up waste behind them. They are state-of-the-art and meet all the current safety criteria and standards Swinging door This door model is used in particular when there is a restricted height. The entire set-up includes an appropriate frame, the hydraulics and the electrical system. The swinging doors are welded steel profiles and have on both sides flat metal surfaces. The doors are each operated by a hydraulically powered ram, with a high torque. Lifting door This model is operated by a remote hydraulic cylinder which is located internally within the door. The main parts of the installation are the door itself, as well as the appropriate guide rail, and the roller bearing guides. At the customers’ request extras can be supplied such as a special edge protector for the concrete opening, a high-speed rolling shutter door as a replacement for one of the conventional doors and opening devices in case of emergencies, etc. The doors are controlled by a central hydraulic supply. A smooth operation is assured by the control selection, adjusted to the specific given factors, as well as being linked to the control systems for the vehicles and the operators. The control is centralised within the plant and coordinated with the existing controls to ensure a smooth delivery process.

...moremechanical feeder
The chute is designed to prevent the waste from being compacted and allows for a uniform distribution across the grate. This is the basic requirement to obtain an even combustion. The feeder chute is a well proven design. All parts of the feeding device exposed to any heat effect are water cooled. The whole mechanical feeding system is located in an airtight shell, ensuring no leakages of dust, waste material or gases. Thus any emissions into the environment are prevented.
...morehydraulic drive system
the internal drive system is the most direct and straightforward drive option. A replacement of the few lightweight components is easily possible during routine maintenance periods. A hydraulic cylinder installed on each side of the grate step, allow a linear movement of each step. Positioning and synchronisation is achieved by an integrated measuring and sensor system. High-quality components provide safe operation as well as the required reliability, even though they are working in a hostile environment inside the grate zones. None of the drive components penetrate the grate side walls; therefore the grate construction is totally enclosed.
...moreGrate Drive System
The completely water cooled construction characterises the STIEFEL grate. Due to the cooling, the supporting structure, the grate steps as well as the side walls are not exposed to a significant thermal expansion and movement. The single drive system is the most flexible of all grate drive systems. This flexibility is a key advantage, allowing for a perfectly controlled energy release andclean combustion of the various fuels. Due to the positions of the sensors, and the proportional valves, each grate step can be individually driven according to real-time requirements. Thisoptimal operation is the result of the complete interaction of components within the STIEFEL combustion control system. Because of multiple drive units, the reliability is dramatically increased, due to the redundancy factor they provide within the system. Internal Grate Drive For 20 years, the internal drive option is implemented into all STIEFEL-combustion systems by default. Due to the impressive simplicity of the mechanism, the internal drive system is the most direct and straightforward drive option. External Grate Drive This refined development results in a drive system with external hydraulic cylinders. Its main advantage is the possibility of immediately being able to replace a failing drive element whilst continuing normal operations. The externally applied force is transmitted through the grate side wall, to the grate step by a shaft. High quality materials are used to ensure the most effective compact drive unit. More available space outside the grate allows the implementation of various cylinder sizes. Therefore, more powerful drive cylinders can be installed instead of the standard ones a particular advantage for wide grates.

Due to the precise construction and solid design, no further agitation or internal transporting system of the waste is required.
...morecombustion control systems
The combustion control system is a central element of the modern waste incineration. Based on its long-term experience, the Stiefel Ltd. converted their know-how into the STIEFEL combustion control system. For an optimal guiding and controlling of the process, it is an obligated condition for an efficient actuator including a direct influence on the combustion, e.g, zonal air supply with single-blowers, equipped with FU’s and flowrate-gaging, feeder equipped with exact path measurement and regulated synchronic run, individual pace for every grate step.
...moreAsh discharger
The function of an ash discharger is to transport and remove the remaining slag after complete combustion. It also forms the seal between the combustion chamber (low pressure) and the environment outside the incinerator. The air seal is guaranteed by a water bath, so air and gas leaks are prevented. The correct water level is maintained by a float switch valve. The ash discharger is a well proven design. The drive is made by two hydraulic cylinders attached to a pusher which transfer the slag out of the water bath. The internal surfaces are lined with changeable wear plates, in order that they can be replaced if necessary, during a routine maintenance period.
