    The Heat of Compression (HOC) dryers are No-Purge Loss type desiccant dryers based on adsorption principle. The hot air from the Compressor at min 120 deg C and higher temp, is used directly for regeneration of the desiccant. After regeneration, this air is cooled down to 40 deg C and then it is dried in second tower. Thus, the use of heaters is eliminated. For eg. in the 6+6 Hrs. Cycle the hot air is fed for regeneration for 4 Hrs. and for balance 2 Hr. a changeover takes place where the air is first cooled in cooler, then dried and before going to the outlet, cools the regenerated desiccant bed, thus bringing it down to ambient temperature.     For Instance High Purity nitrogen DX model is introduced in the field of NITROGEN GENERATION PROCESS, As DX Process leads to reduce oxygen content as low as it can i.e. below 5 ppm.   A PSA system is followed by additional purification unit using palladium as catalyst for removal of oxygen & moisture contents upto 1 PPM, Level with mostly desirable reducing constituent hydrogen (adjustable).   The Palladium –Deoxo unit, used industrially ran with additional hydrogen feed, for exothermic reaction : O2 + 2H2 ----- 2H2O   is run with one reactor filled with Palladium Catalyst. The Nitrogen, coming directly from the PSA system with the remaining oxygen, is mixed over mixer with Hydrogen before entering the catalyst reactor. At the catalyst surface the oxygen reacts with hydrogen to produce water and heat. The heat and water have to be removed by a standard water after cooler and gas dryer to required level. The remaining hydrogen concentration in the Nitrogen is around 0.5 to 1% minimum.   The high purity DX-Model finds application in chemical/electronics/metallurgical industries.   Applications : Mettalurgical, Heat Treatment, Synthetic Fibre Units, Chemical Industries Etc,

    This is second type of Deoxo unit is with additional after cleaning using copper for endothermic reaction for removal of extra oxygen, the moisture and hydrogen contents and maintained upto 1PPM level. This Ultra pure nitrogen gas finds application in electronic, synthetic fiber and optical fiber industries.   This De-Oxo unit needs two externally heated filled with copper as catalyst for the endothermic reaction : O2 + 2Cu----2CuO   The loaded copper bed can be regenerated by adding hydrogen during the regeneration step. For this two step process (Deoxidization and regeneration), two reactors are necessary to achieve a continuously operating De-Oxo system. The nitrogen form the PSA system with the remaining oxygen passes one of the reactors without adding hydrogen. ON passing through the reactor, the oxygen is removed by reacting with the copper surface, The advantage of the Deoxo unit based on the copper is that the high purity nitrogen leaves the unit absolutely dry & without any remaining hydrogen.

Cooling of the bed may be done with atmospheric air but without heater or some air may be re-circulated through heat exchanger, depending on the dryness of air required.
