An open Delta Transformer is a conventional three phase transformer manufactured to give a single phase output. Line reactors (or line chokes) add an extra margin of protection for AC/DC drives and are a common power accessory for VFD's. Load reactors are used on the output of AC Drives to reduce the effects of high motor wiring capacitance and to improve power quality to motor   Purpose of Line Reactors: Harmonics are generated in industries due to motors / AC/DC drives etc. Inductors save power by improving Power Factor of the system. Used in series with DC drive to suppress spikes in supply voltage.
