The handloom and handicrafts of India are diverse, rich in history and religion. Indian handloom textiles and crafts are considered as luxury items in western world but in India it is the main source of employment next to agriculture. But nowadays cheap machine made products have flooded the market and people have left out age old. But no development is sustainable without a strong cultural component. Both heritage and creativity lay the foundation for vibrant, innovative and prosperous societies.
Though the handmade industry is growing, artisans are deprived of enough wages , health education connectivity and socio-economic benefits ,due to this younger generation is moving onto other fields. So it is the need of time to look back into time, because this is not just history, it is our story, our tale ,so it is our responsibility to conserve , survive ,revive and honor our age old heritage and hand it to future hands for the benefit of future . This will be possible when we Indians will become a part of this tale directly or indirectly.
