Coir mattresses are mattresses that contain layers made from the coir fiber: fiber taken from the husk of a coconut. A coir mattress is typically made similarly to other synthetic core mattresses. Coir mattresses will usually have an a layer of foam in the center, surrounded by layers of coir fibers on top and bottom, and then finished with traditional padded cotton insulating layers.
