Zahedi Dates is one the dry varieties of the date in most regions of Iran, however, in some regions it is known as a semi-dried date. It is also called as Ghasab in some areas of Iran. The date is produced in Khuzestan, Fars, Booshehr and Kermanshah provinces, but the main production is in a region called Poshtkooh in Bushehr Province. There are 4 distinct stages of ripening. In the first stage called Kharak, the skin of Zahidi becomes yellow. At the Rutab stage, dates become light brown and at the final stage, called Tamr dates turn into reddish brown to light yellow. The date is oval-shaped which is narrower at the end. It can easily be stored all year long.Due to its high sugar content, it can be used for vinegar and alcohol production.Kharak ripens in late August but the harvest season is early-mid September.Zahidi is among the dry dates which ripens late and is subject to premature drops.The main regions for the production of the date are Borazjan, Kazerun, Firoozabad, Bushehr,Jahrom, Lar  and Khoramshahr. Sayer Dates is semi-dried with moisture under 15% and is dark brown color. The dates is long in size and shelf life is approximately 18 months at room temperature. Sayer dates grows in the khozestan region. The dates is available in grades GAQ, FAQ and industrial as whole dates, in pitted or non-pitted forms, and also in chapped form. Harvesting is done at the mid October. The grades of Sayer dates are mentioned below: Super Select maximum 70 pieces/lb Select Grade A maximum 75 pieces/lb GAQ maximum 115 pieces/lb FAQ (smaller sizes, no specific count/lb.) Rabbi Dates is kind of dates which is soft, dark brown in color and long in size. This dates is semi-dried with moisture under %15. Shelf life at room temperature is about one year, under interim fumigation. The dates is used pitted or unpitted for direct consumption and industrial purposes. Harvesting is done at the end of Augusts. Rabbi Dates Grades:The product is available in three grades of AAA, AA and A Rabbi Dates Packings:Available regular packings are 10-12.5 kg cartons.

Piarom Dates (Piyarom) is the most delicious semi dried date in the whole world. Piarom is one of the varieties which grows in south of Iran in the north area of Hormozgan province.Piarom palms are mostly grown in mountain domains and irrigation is done through channels running from the river in the region.Palms are grown organically with no chemical treatment during the growing season. The washing stage is completely performed. Fructose is the sugar found mainly in the date which undergoes metabolic processing in the liver and is known as one of the best sweeteners for diabetics to use. This dates is semi dried with moisture under %15. It is dark brown in color and round in size. Shelf Life at room temperature about 18 Months, under interim fumigation. The dates is used pitted or unpitted. Harvest Time is around mid September. The dates is available in Jumbo or normal forms. Piaroms grow in Hormozgan region.The date has a dark brown skin which is fully-cling to the flesh. Piarom Dates (Piyarom) Grades:The product is available in three grades of AAA, AA and A Piarom Dates (Piyarom) Packings:Available regular packings are 10-12.5 kg cartons.

Mazafati dates fruit is one of the most famous and delicious varieties of the dates which is usually used as Rutab. The coloring of the date is black with the moisture content (15-35%) depends largely on the harvesting time and the place where the date grows. The size of the date is usually between 2.5-4.5 cm and the date has a very useful flesh on it. The most delicious mazafati date is the one which tends to grows in the city of Bam in southern east area of Iran. The Bam region has around 28000 Hectares of the lands under the harvest of mazafati date from which 5000 Hectares pertains to young palm trees. 120000 tons of the date is being harvested from the land annually. Jiroft and Kahnuj in Kerman province are the main regions where mazafati grows. This fresh dates grow in Kerman region. The coloring of this variety is black and its taste is very delicious. Kabkab Dates is round in size, and the color varies from light brown to dark brown. It is soft in nature with moisture under %18. Shelf Life at room temperature is about 1 year under interim fumigation. The dates is used in pitted or unpitted form. Harvest Time is Mid September. Kabkabs grow in Fars regions. Kharak of kabkab date is of no use, so it should bear pre-cooking and pre-drying stages before use.At Kharak and Rutab stages the date appears in yellow color and as ripens the coloring turns into dark brown.From the economical point of view, it comes after Saamara, Shahani and Mazafati dates. The date has a high moisture content which is oval-shaped and weighs around 15 gram. This variety has a hard skin and the flesh to pit rate is roughly 9.25.
