VIN marking is one the most critical operation in a vehicle roll out line, & we have supplied n number of machine for the very application. It is a 17 digit number marked on the vehicle for registration. Car cabins, truck cowls, LCV/HCV extruded chassis, Fabricated box chassis you name it we have a installation. In most of the cases our machine is connected to the assembly line PC which sends the VIN for marking. Depending up on the profile of the chassis we design the clamping structure (some them are shown in the pictures). It could be done by neumatic/electromagnetic or simply manual clamping (if cycle time is not crucial).

This is another application in which we specialize. Gearbox is marked with running serial number in addition to this a nameplate is riveted on the body which has other information like gear ratio, type, plant code etc. The machine you see in the picture marks gearbox number & nameplate in single setup. As you can see gearbox & nameplate are clamped on two separate fixtures, marking data is received in to the machine PC & given to machine. Marking head is mounted on rodless pneumatic cylinders for up down & horizontal motion. When marking command is given gear is marked first, then the marking head moves to second position & marks nameplate.This machine requires custom software interface which is developed in house.

What you see are special tooling’s developed for marking head which is hanged on a spring balancer. Operator positions the head on the component & gives mark command. Clamping & other operations are done automatically. Such kinds of machines are generally used for marking automobile axles, engine blocks, heavy castings etc.

Scribing technology generates high quality continuous line marking with very low noise level operations. Heavy duty models are perfectly well suited to Vehicle Identification Marking - VIN marking – with deep and reliable indent permanent marks. Other models are preferred to identify flat component surfaces with fine characters of the highest legibility. 

Roll marking is suitable for high output continuous processes by powered machines. Rolling an inscription into a component lessens the marking load because only a fraction of the inscription is in contact at any one time. Many components can be marked without distortion by the rolling method which could not be marked successfully by pressing methods.

Lot of machines have been supplied to Wipro Bangalore & Chennai for marking on hydraulic cylinder & some of other hydraulic components. All machines have been designed keeping in mind the verity of components to be fixtures. For example the picture on righ shows marking head mounted on pneumatic slide for up down movement used for marking only on cylinders. The one on left shows three separate fixtures & marking head which can be moved in 3 different directions by providing manual slides. This can be auto missed by providing servo motors. This particular workstation is used for flat, round & axial marking of hydraulic components.

In most of the cases VIN marking is done on line, for this we generally suspend the marking head along with tooling by using any of the above shown methods. We supply total solution like machine could be suspended through a spring balancer which in turn would be travelling on X/y KBK type steel rails. If Very rigid clamping is desired & weight of the unit is more, we supply pneumatic manipulator arms which are mounted overhead. As the marking machine is traveling with the vehicle when the VIN is being marked, special data transfer cable are required which we import from Europe.
