This instrument controls speed/torque of the engine remotely. Two remote operating stations are provided. One station is on the instrument front face with two pairs of push buttons, Of which one pair is for Continuous Rotation in Forward or Reverse direction and second is for Inching in Forward or Reverse direction. Second station is a toggle switch with centre off position situated on the motor unit for Continuous Rotation in Forward or Reverse direction. This facility offers great convenience to the operator to set initial position of the safety link at engine idle speed. A safety link is used to hold the throttle lever securely at full throttle position.

To make it possible to operate reliably even in the above-mentioned unstable range, it is necessary to detect the rotational speed of the motor and use a voltage control mechanism (closed-loop control) that reduces the speed error when compared to a set value.
