ESD
We are all familiar with ESD (Electro Static Discharge).It is a charge generated from friction and it tends to jump from one charged surface to another conductive surface.
On non conductive materials such as all PLASTIC & SYNTHETIC materials the charges do not move. as charges are unable to flow, are called STATIC CHARGES.
Due to its layer of sweats ,human skin is one of the best conductors. It quickly picks up static charge store it and then release it in the form of DANGEROUS SPARK.
DAMAGE CAN BE CAUSED BY ESD.
It is estimated that great damage is caused by ESD particularly in the field of MICROELECTRONICS, SEMI CONDUCTORS &PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS fitted into COMPUTERS,TELEPHONE sets, MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS and many other electronic equipments, which have been render defective as a result of exposure to ESD. This causes down time and repair delays with total world wide costs estimated to BILLIONS of DOLLARS every year. In addition to many other important safety requirements, ANTISTATIC SHOES can play an important role in keeping static electricity in check. They help to prevent the wearer from becoming Statically Charged.
ANTISTATIC SHOES
A shoe is termed as being ANTISTATIC when its conducting state rating is between 105 and 108 ohms and measured at between 105 and 107 ohms.
CONDUCTIVE SHOE
A shoe is termed as being conductive when its conducting state rating is between 0 and 104 ohms.

PVC & PU are Non Conductive materials. The antistatic properties are developed in these materials by adding solvents blended with metal salts or quoternery ammonium. Antistatic values of these materials changes in course of time (duration depends on climatic as well as working condition).The WEARER is recommended to perform regular examination of static rating. Whereas Antistatic properties of Nitrile rubber blended with antistatic ingredients during compounding, result are permanent (loss of antistatic values due to oxidization are negligible).
