Condensate pipe carries approximately 90% (by volume) of flash steam, and 10% of condensate. This bi-phase condition occurs immediate downstream of the trap or discharge orifice. To recover the flash steam, the bi-phase fluid has to be separated into condensate and flash steam. As the pressure is low, the separation method cannot allow much pressure drop, but must separate the two phases efficiently, so that the flash steam is dry enough to use.Heating of feed water with the help of flash steam generated from boiler blow down. In continuous blow down system, especially where blow down rates are high as a result of poor feed water quality, Flash Separators can be used to recover energy from blow down. ‘Vipeshak’ roller crusher-cum-stone separator consists of two robust cylindrical rollers, one smooth and the other with helical groove, rotating in opposite directions. They are designed in such a way that stones contained in the incoming wet clay are stripped of clay, separated and eliminated through a chute. Smaller stones and inclusions of lower hardness are pulled through the roller gap along with regular material and crushed.

The steam is used in the process plants at various pressures depending upon the temperature requirements. The condensate from the high pressure steam when comes to low pressure, some part of the condensate get evaporated which is called as flash steam. Recovering the maximum possible flash steam back to the feed water tank reduces the fuel consumption of steam boiler. Flash steam has substantial amount of heat which is ignored & vented to atmosphere in most of the process plants. The percentage of flash steam generated from condensate is lower but the heat content of flash steam is high. A properly designed flash steam separator can separate the maximum flash steam from the high pressure condensate & send it back to the feed water tank where it gets mix with the feed water increasing its temperature. Higher the steam pressure used in equipment higher amount of flash steam will be generated from condensate.

We manufacture drum type magnetic separators which has a magnetic drum with close dense magnetic field which is assembled on non-magnetic SS shaft. Magnetic pole shoes are projected out to form “fins”, for better magnetic field alignment around the drum. The drum is rotated very slowly by a geared motor drive. A non-magnetic SS trough holds the dirty fluid close to drum. Magnetic dirt is picked-up by magnetic field & is attached to the finned drum. Slow rotary motion dumps the dirt collected on closely contoured scrapers. Extended scraper dumps the dirt collected to a bin. Size & number of fins is selected depending on the flow of fluid, viscosity of fluid & quantum of dirt to be handled. Positive rake scraper is selected for volatile fluid like water based emulsion while negative rake scraping is selected for oils. Negative rake scraper keeps the fluid away from bin.
