This versatile Jig can be used to test various types of Dot matrix Print heads. The features of the Jig is as given below.Can be used to test the continuity of the all the coils and print head cables simultaneouslyCan be used to check the resistance of each coil of the print head. Can be used to check the firing of individual pins of any print head. CONTINUITY TESTING To test the continuity place the toggle switch on the top of the Unit to the Continuity position. This Jig provides a universal 26-pin male berg connector to which a female berg cable can be connected. Any number of cables can be configured so as to match you print head requirement. The configuration of the Berg connector is 1 to 1 that means pin number 1 of the berg connector represents Pin 1 of print head and LED 1 on the Test Jig. Different cables can be made as per the printer head connector to directly connect the print head to this cable. Once the cable is connected and the Unit is Switched on, all the LEDs on the top of the Unit will light up corresponding to all the coils that are showing continuity. That means if it is a nine pin head then the first nine LEDs will light up, if the head is a 18 pin the first 18 LEDs will light up, if the 24 pin then all the 24 LEDs will light up. NOTE the LED only shows the continuity of the coils not whether the coil impedance is correct, that means even if the coil is electrically short then the LED will light up. For this you have to check the impedance using the digital resistance meter provided. RESISTANCE TESTING To test the Resistance place the toggle switch on the top of the Unit to the Resistance position. Now with the print head connected to the cable depress each micro toggle switch momentarily to display the resistance of that coil. That means if you want to measure the resistance of coil 1 then depress the micro toggle corresponding to 1, this will cause the display meter to display the resistance of that coil. FIRING TESTING To test the Firing place the toggle switch on the top of the Unit to the Continuity position. Now with the print head connected to the cable depress each micro toggle switch momentarily to activate the corresponding PIN. That means if you want to check the firing of PIN 1 then depress the micro toggle corresponding to 1, if you want to check the firing of Pin 2 then depress micro switch no 2 and so on.

This is a very useful machine for the printer head repair and remanufacturing industry. This can be used for spot-welding the hammers on to the spring plates. This is very useful for repair of OKI 520 / 521 type of print heads and is the only machine that has been specifically designed for this. This machine is a very compact machine as it uses a "capacitor discharge through transformer" technology. Using this machine one can spot-weld not only displaced hammers back to the spring plate but you can also re-weld the entire spring plate to the base plate. This machine uses a bank of capacitors to store the charge that is needed to generate the high current for the spot welding. The current is amplified by passing it through a current transformer. When the welding operation is to be done, this very high current is passed through the two electrodes with the job in the between them. The heat that is generated due to the high current fuses the metal parts and generates a very high strength bond. As the machine uses removable external copper electrodes, various models of electrode can be made to suit all your requirements. As the name suggests this handy and hence portable "Aqua Welder" models generate Oxygen & Hydrogen Gas by electro dissociation of water and this is used as the fuel for the heat source. This machine has been specifically designed to take care of all Silver Brazing needs in any Print head remanufacturing setup. This machine can very well be used to do Silver brazing of .2 mm pins like in the LQ heads and even .35 mm pins in the DFX heads. Only distilled water and electric power is consumed during its operation. Oxygen and Hydrogen Gases produced and thoroughly mixed in right proportion in the gas generator chamber, when burnt at the torch tip yield a clean flame with a temperature of the order of 3000° C. To help dissociation of water an electrolyte is used which is poured in the generator cell only in the beginning and once only. Further operation of the generator consumes only distilled water. This reduces the running cost of this self-reliant gas generator to only few cents per hour. The size of the flame produced as above is a function of the gas pressure (easily controllable on the unit) and the size of the needles (easily changeable) used along with the torch. Passing gases through Methyl alcohol can further modify flame characteristics. This is done in a separate small chamber outside the generator cell. The alcohol vapor, mixed with the gases, gives the flame a reducing characteristic. Simultaneously a larger flame with a reduced temperature of about 1400° C. The temperature of the work piece to be heated can be manipulated at will by selecting proper flame size and adjusting distance of the flame from the work piece. Using a particular size of needle can control the size of the flame. For different needles different current settings are required. The exact value of current required for a particular size of needle depends on the work to be done and the operator's choice.
