Filtrating itself is assured by pressure sand filter, which is equipped with a 6-way valve. With this valve the desired mode of operation is set: filtration, rinsing, backwash, circulation or wasting. Water is coming from top to the bottom of the sand filter and impurities are trapped here. After a certain time there is a filter clogging, resulting in increased pressure in the filter. If pressure rises above the reference value, it is necessary to clean the filter. In the washing process, water is coming from bottom to the top of sand filter and removes trapped impurities out of the sand. After rinsing, a 'back wash' comes. Water is going from top to the bottom of the sand filtration and is let out to the canalization for a while, because there are still a lot of impurities in a filter. Oils, fats, and grease cling to the outside surface of the tube and are drawn into the skimmer. The material drawn into the skimmer is scraped off by abrasive resistant and flows into a sludge pan with drain coupling. The clean tube is then driven back to the surface of the water by the skimmer to remove more material.

In any coolant application scum is generated. If this is not removed it affects the coolant life. A belt skimmer is a very simple product to remove the floating oil. A belt skimmer is mounted on tank tops. The unit consists of two (2) pulleys. Care is taken that the bottom pulley is below fluid surface level. The top pulley is connected to a geared drive. An endless belt of polyurethane material rotates on the pulleys. Bottom pulley has a self-tensioning arrangement to compensate expansion of belt over time. Fluid flows slowly over the belt leaving the floating oil on the surface of the belt.   The belt scrapes through a pair of nylon scarpers near the top pulley. The scraped fluid is collected a tank. The separator tank is specially design with adjustable baffles.
