...moreTRIPLE EFFECT CHILLER
Thermax is the first absorption chiller manufacturer in the world to commercialise the ultimate in absorption technology – the Triple Effect Absorption Chiller. This is a major breakthrough in the field of refrigeration and air-conditioning. Triple effect absorption chillers have a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of 1.8, which is nearly 30% higher than the double effect absorption chillers. This helps the user to reduce the energy requirement for cooling significantly. Driving heat source Steam (Pressure: 10 – 25 bar.g, Dry saturated) or Hot Water (Inlet temperature: 190°C – 225°C) Features Highest possible COP Online concentration measurement Stainless steel tubes for generator Stainless steel plate type solution heat exchangers Advance series flow technology VFD for solution pump PLC based control panel BMS connectivity Colour Touch screen operator interface Thermax triple effect absorption chillers are designed based on its proven advanced series flow technology. This ensures that the highest concentration and highest temperature of Lithium Bromide solution doesn't occur simultaneously. Due to this the rate of corrosion is negligible compared to the para flow or reverse flow technologies. Coupled with an accurate online concentration measurement, the Thermax Triple effect absorption chillers are extremely user friendly and significantly reduces user intervention and down time. The variable frequency drives on solution pumps helps to improve the COP during part loads and also offers a stable operation. It also increases the life of the solution pump. Ferritic stainless steel tubes in generators of the triple effect machine have thermal expansion coefficient similar to carbon steel and thus helps to avoid the stress corrosion cracking. The plate type solution heat exchangers increase the COP by offering maximum internal heat recovery. The stainless steel plates of these solution heat exchangers ensure long life and reliability. The operation of the absorption chiller is controlled by stand-alone PLC based control panel. The touch screen HMI provided on the control panel through which the operator can set the necessary set points and can see all the operating parameters, status, alarms, trip logs. The chiller is also equipped with necessary level controls, temperature sensors, flow safety devices etc. to control and safeguard the chiller. For viewing the operating parameters of the chiller from a remote location, MODBUS RTU or Ethernet connectivity is available.

...moreHeat Transformer
Heat transformer also known as Type-II heat pump, in which medium grade heat is pumped to high grade heat. With a heat transformer, waste heat can be upgraded, virtually without the use of high temperature driving energy. The input heat source i.e., Waste heat of a medium temperature is supplied to the evaporator and generator and useful heat of higher temperature is given off in the absorber. These heat transformers can achieve a delivery temperature up to 160ºC, typically with a lift of 50ºC.Thermax has commissioned a Heat transformer at M/s. Asia Silicon in Western part of China. The plant manufactures poly film for photovoltaic cells and the process requires water at 100ºC. During the process this water temperature increases to 108ºC and for reutilization, the 108ºC water leaving the process was cooled to 100ºC in a dry cooler where the heat was simply rejected to the atmosphere. Using the Heat Transformer, 45% of the available heat is converted to steam at 4bar.g, which finds use in the manufacturing process.
...moreHeat Pump
Heat pumps drive heat from a lower temperature to medium temperature, using high grade energy. Thermax heat pumps utilise steam, hot water, exhaust, fuel, geothermal energy or any combination of these heat sources, to pump heat. Heat pumps save approximately 35% of heat energy.Thermax heat pumps are extensively used in Europe, Scandinavian countries and China for district heating applications. Heat pumps are also used in industries like: textile plants, edible oil, food, auto & white goods, etc. Thermax has over 100 MW capacity of heat pump installations to its credit, installed across the globe.
...moreEvaporative Condenser
Thermax Evaporative Condenser operates in a manner wherein a condenser is integrated into a cooling tower which rejects the latent heat of condensation of refrigerant (Ammonia/Freon) through a coil to the surroundings by means of evaporation. Water sprayed onto the coil exchanges heat with the refrigerant.A small quantity of water is evaporated into the air thereby cooling the remaining water cascading to the basin at the bottom. Post evaporation the saturated air passes through the drift eliminators and then forced out using a fan.The coil serves to isolate the process fluid from the outside air, keeping it clean and contamination free in a closed loop, thus creating two separate circuits. Primary / Internal circuit in which the process fluid / gas circulates inside the coil Secondary / External circuit where water is sprayed over the coil and mixes with outside air Systems using a Thermax Evaporative Condenser are far simpler when compared with conventional system. The Primary circuit is identical to the conventional system whereas the cooling tower, secondary pumps, PHE / shell & tube heat exchanger and associated piping, valves are eliminated. Thermax Evaporative Condenser has a built in heat exchanger coil, spray pump & exhaust fan, which saves power & installation space while ensuring ease of maintenance. Benefits EFFICIENCY Limited impact of scaling on cooling performance over time. Minimum deterioration of cooling performance due to scaling, overtime Honeycomb PVC Film fill for most optimal air & Water usage Air Flow - Parallel at coil side & cross at fill side for efficient heat transfer with lower static resistance Optimized spray water flow to coil for maximum heat transfer Efficient Wave type Drift eliminator reduces makeup requirement RELIABILITY Continuous coil without welded joints Robust corrosion resistant structural material for long life Optimized diameter interference nozzles for clog free operation Optimized air exit velocity to avoid recirculation MAINTENANCE Side access door for easy online inspection & maintenance Electronic De-scaling device for trouble free operation Direct Drive Axial fan arrangement ensures lowest inventory Operating Principle The refrigerant flows through the coil of the evaporative condenser. Heat from the refrigerant is rejected through the coil tubes. Part of the heat is removed directly by the downward induced air and discharged to the surrounding. Rest of the heat is rejected to the water cascading down over the tubes. Simultaneously, air is drawn in through the air inlet louvers at the base of the evaporative condenser. A small portion of the water is evaporated which removes the heat. The warm saturated air travels through the drift eliminator & discharged by the fan to the surrounding, thereby reducing drift water loss. Post heat exchange, the condensed refrigerant flows to receiver tank Why Thermax Evaporative Condensers Thermax Evaporative Condenser offers unmatched flexibility, providing optimized selections for various refrigeration systems & climatic conditions, utilizing multi flow configuration. Thermax provides the most energy efficient evaporative condenser in the market. ...moredry cooler
Operation Principle Thermax Dry Coolers are also known as Radiators/Remote Radiators, Fin Fan Coolers, Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. They work on the principle of convection and conduction to dissipate heat from process fluid to the air stream created by the fans mounted on it. By suitably selecting the tube material, we can use a dry cooler to effectively cool or condense process water, chemicals or any heat transfer fluid, even if it is corrosive or contaminated with particulates. Dry coolers are closed loop systems which eliminate any kind of water loss and thus eliminating the continuous requirement of make-up water. Being a closed loop circuit, the water treatment cost is also negligible as compared to conventional evaporative cooling towers. Construction Thermax offers two types of Dry coolers - 'V' type and 'H' type based on the application or requirement. The fans can be mounted according to induced draft or forced draft type, depending on the application. The fans are of direct drive type, but options with gear box or belt drive are also available. The tubes which carry the process fluid are of copper, carbon steel or stainless steel with aluminum fins to maximize the heat transfer. We offer two variations in fin configuration based on the operating fluid temperature such as- Continuous fin and High Fin tube bundles to optimize selection. The side panels are epoxy coated which makes it corrosion resistant and gives it an excellent appearance. Product Range Fluid Temperature: 30°C to 240°C with a minimum approach of 5°C above dry bulb temperature.
