The shell is made of aluminium, making them rugged and light weight, having a life of at least 500 mating cycles. Olive drab coating gives the connectors excellent corrosion resistance. The insulators are made of high grades of Polychloroprene, which resilient to environmental conditions for a wide temperature range of -55˚C to +125˚C.
