ABI houses a state-of-the-art plant to produce Gravity Die Castings. ABI is well equipped to produce both permanent mould and semi-permanent mould castings, and has the ability to produce castings with both horizontal and vertical parting line. The casting facility at ABI consists of seven carousels each containing eight individual machines and 14 individual stations to produce castings of different sizes.

The base of these machines contains a rugged welded steel structure whereas the bed is manufactured from graded cast iron. We provide gravity die casting machines, which can tilt by 90 degree with the help of hydraulic cylinders. The tilting speed is adjustable as per the requirement of casting. The mould closing unit is provided with four tie bars that ensure even force on die in closing. Gravity die casting machine is specialized for nonferrous metals like aluminum, lead and copper alloys with wide range of options available to meet the need of foundries. The machine is a "C" Frame type structure, fabricated out of steel plates with one fixed plate and one moving plate guided by four rear guide bars made up of hard coated chrome bars and supported by bottom slides to take heavy die weight. Both plates are provided with core extractor or ejection of the castings.

Tiltable gravity die casting : This process is used for casting low melting point material such as aluminium, copper and magnesium. By pouring the metal in tilted position of the die, the feed rate is reduced. This decreases turbulance and foaming of liquid metal. Tilting helps in smooth flow of metal in the die, thus oxidation is reduced considerably. Using sand cores complex geometries can be casted.
