The material used in dies is HCHCr - High Carbon High Chromiuim steel of grade D2, High Speed Steel HSS of different grades M2 1.3343 SKH59. Dies are heat treated to 60 – 62 HRc. Rolling Dies are also supplied with special surface treatment to increase the life of tools.
