Patta Chitra is one of the oldest art forms that depicted the mythological tales in a creative form on cloth based canvas. To survive and sustain the art form in a contemporary design Punarnawa has trained more than 100 artisans from 40 families in Patta Chitra design workshop that was held in year 2013 in collaboration with State Institute for the Development of Arts & Crafts, Odisha. Traditionally Patta Chitra used natural colors derived from the minerals and herbs on a homemade canvas. He is trying to make a painting for his national award application and he is struggling to finish it because he feels it is still not enough.
