Duplex rolls have the advantage of selecting the harder best performing material on the working surface, which is primarily a clear carbon chilled cast iron or a Cr-Ni alloyed chill cast iron & a relatively softer material inside.   After casting the rolls are annealed to relieve the internal stresses thus improving the strength of the material. After heat treatment the rolls are machined & fitted with spindles from both sides. Fluting is also done on the roll surface as per requirement of the customer.
