Variable Air Volume (VAV) control improves a store's environment, making it more comfortable while also saving energy. There are three components to Emerson's VAV System Control: the iPro DAC, Single-duct VAV Controller, and VAV Smart Thermostat. All components integrate seamlessly with the E2 Facility Management System. Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems enable retailers to improve the indoor air quality and customer comfort of their environment, while potentially lowering energy costs. To accomplish this, each Single-Duct VAV Controller communicates with the VAV RTU Controller, enabling the HVAC unit to produce the right temperature and volume of air required at any given time. Since the HVAC unit is rarely operating at full speed, as it would always be doing in a traditional constant volume system, energy is saved. Each Single-Duct VAV Controller is able to regulate the amount of air, as well as reheat air if required, ensuring each zone is at a comfortable temperature. Great for use in both new and existing facilities, all components may be integrated with Emerson’s E2 Facility Management System. Emerson offers a complete series of serviceable take-apart filter driers for use with CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants for commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The STAS is a replaceable core filter drier for suction line service for use in commercial air conditioning and refrigerant systems of up to 120 tons capacity. R-410A rated STAS models are available.

Emerson offers a wide range of suction line filter driers for use with CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants. The ASD is a premium suction line filter-drier optimized for high moisture, acid, and solid contaminant removal. The SFD is a standard suction line filter-drier for use after a burnout or when major work has been performed. The CSFD has a compact solid desiccant core perfect for short lay-in applications. The ASK utilizes a solid core with an activated carbon blend to maximize acid, moisture and wax removal. The ASF is a specifically designed filter to protect the compressor from dirt and all solid contaminants.

In most refrigeration applications, it is necessary to start or stop the flow in the refrigerant circuit to automatically control the fluids in the system. An electronically operated solenoid valve is usually used for this purpose. Its basic function is the same as a manually operated shut off valve, but by being solenoid actuated, it can be positioned in remote locations and may be conveniently controlled by simple electrical switches. Emerson offers a complete range of normally closed valves and normally open valves that cover any application ranging from 12 ton to 100 tons. We offer direct acting and pilot operated valves. For the pilot operated valves, there are diaphragm valves and piston operated valves.

Emerson SureSwitch™ relay and CoreSense™ Protection module provide critical compressor protection by guarding against the most common sources of mechanical contactor failures – such as arcing, foreign objects, pests and brown-outs.

Emerson's ACK check valve is a normally closed magnetic check valve that prevents reverse refrigerant flow in liquid lines and compressor discharge lines. The Emerson refrigeration ball valve isolates suction, discharge, and liquid line pipework during maintenance shutdown periods and it comes with optional access valve.

Emerson moisture indicators are designed to provide an accurate method of determining the moisture content of a system’s refrigerant. The HMI is the highest sensitivity moisture indicator available and it detect moisture at 3% relative humidity (RH) providing plenty of time to make necessary adjustments before any damage is done. The Emerson AMI moisture indicator features a take-apart design for easier repair and the A-IHL saddle design moisture indicator is ideal for large diameter tubing.

Mechanical controls regulate and control temperature, pressure and flow of refrigerant and oil in the system. The EK liquid line filter drier is a premium compacted bead filter drier that is buffered by an initial 40-micron fiber-glass filter to remove most of the solid contaminants and sludge and a 20-micron final filter to remove any remaining contamination. This ensures that the refrigeration system will stay cleaner longer with minimal pressure drop in the filter drier.
