The Agitated Thin Film Dryer consists of a jacketed vertical cylinder withmulti-blade rotors at the centre. With rotor revolving at high speed, material is spreadover the jacketed surface in a thin film due to the centrifugal force. The film is agitated intensely as it travels down the cylindrical vessel rapidly. With the material traveling from top to the bottom it undergoes physical changes from solution to slurry, wet cake, wet powder and then dry powder as the final product. The vapour produced during the process travels upwards towards the entrainment separator,where the entrained droplets are separated from the vapour and the clean vapour is removed from the ATFD through a nozzle from the top.
