READY TO USE RETARDING ADDITIVE FOR CEMENT-CONCRETE Hydraproof-RTD is a ready to use liquid set time retarding admixture for cement concrete and mortars. The water reducing characteristic along with the required /given workability are simile to the normal plasticiser/ water reducing agent is the primary function of Hydraproof-RTD. The secondary but important function is to control and extend the initial setting of cement in cement concrete and mortar. This property enables avoidance of cold joints where longer transportation and placement of the cement concrete takes place. It is also recommended for concreting in hot climates where slump/workability retention is difficult. The longer pour area, difficult pours, mass pours and prestressed concrete are the ideal application areas for Hydraproof RTD. Hydraproof-RTD delays the initial hydration reaction of the cement in wet cement concrete which results into retardation of the setting time but once the initial setting is over the hardening of the concrete undergoes normally.
