The manifold is constructed out of ASTM A 106 Gr. B 20 NB seam-less carbon steel pipe with forged fittings and flanges of ASTMA grade. The manifold is supported on an angle iron which is firmly grouted to the floor. The manifold is fitted with manifold valves which are as per IS 3224. The manifold valves are used to connect the tonner in use or isolate the tonners which are not in use. The manifold is also provided with a pressure gauge with an isolating valve.

The Acetylene Generator is of an advanced design, incorporating several features not ordinarily found in other generators. The Acetylene generator is a fully automatic plant. Pneumatically controlled valves and highly sensitive sensors, integral with the temperature control instruments, perform all operations. These in turn open the water inlet valve or residue drain valve etc. Two hydraulic pumps help to open and close the supply of calcium carbide, which is fed into the generator by screw feed conveyors. The screw feed mechanism and the agitators are operated by flameproof motors and fittings. The entire operation is perfectly synchronized to give maximum efficiency and simplicity in operation. Any failure, whether it is of power supply, water or air is signaled visually and also audibly when an alarm bell rings to alert the operator.

The acetylene plants has been manufactured with Boschi - Italy designs & drawings and modified by experienced engineers to perfection. The acetylene plant is fully automatic and all the operations are performed automatically by pneumatically controlled valves along with highly accurate sensors and temperature controller imported from USA, Germany, Japan. Acetylene is generated as a result of the chemical reaction between the calcium carbide and water. The by-product calcium hydroxide is discharged automatically from the generator. Acetylene gas burns along with oxygen as a cutting & welding torch and it provides the highest temperature of any known oxygen gas mixture.
