Grooved Pins are straight pins with three equispaced longitudinal grooves of different types according to standards. They are rolled or pressed  to deform the pin stock outward within set limits. When this pin is forced into a drilled hole of proper diameter, an interference fit is obtained. Only a straight drilling hole is required and no reaming is necessary.
