The centre groove on the collapsing chisel forces the tube to collapse inwardly therefore releasing pressure on the tube sheet and breaking the seal.If the tube is thick walled then using the wall reducer will make the overall removal of the stub end much more easier.Tubes which are flush with the outside of the tube sheet can also be removed with the Knockout/Drift tools. These fit inside the tube or stub end and force the tube back through the tube sheet.
