Pre-heating is timed to maintain consistency of initial viscosity readings. The viscometer's serrated shearing disk, rotating at 2 rpm and developing torque on the sample up to 200 inch pounds (200dN M), causing the sample to flow. The necessary amount of torque is measured and is read on an x-y graph on the personal computer monitor.Measurements are recorded on the PC, using Benz' proprietary Benzwin 2000 software, which is included with the MV 2100.When the sample's viscosity falls to a level reading, the engineer or quality control operator knows both the torque and the time required to reach that minimum viscosity. Among other things, the level indicates if the compound has been properly mixed, with ingredients in their proper proportions.The Benz MV 2100 also performs scorch tests in which, at 320 ºF (160 ºC), the liquid sample cures. The MV 2100 measures and records the amount of time a sample will last in a mold before it is scorched and its elastomeric properties are lost.The Benz MV 2100 is also used to record stress relaxation, measuring the amount of stress energy (resilience) remains in a sample after the spinning rotor is stopped. Test temperatures of 300°C are easily achieved and to ensure optimum safety at higher temperatures the Nitrogen Blanket option is recommended.The methods of testing available on the apparatus areHDT - Heat deflection / distortion testA standard sized test specimen is subjected to a bending stress, whilst the temperature is raised at a uniform rate. The temperature at which the specified deflection occurs is measured and recorded. Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 75 (parts 1, 2 and 3) and ASTM D648 Test Standards.For this test a required fibre stress of 0.45, 1.8, or 8.00 MPa is easily selected. Custom fibre stresses can also be managed by the microprocessor if required. The temperature at which the sample was penetrated is recorded as the Vicat Softening Temperature (VST). Testing is carried out in accordance with the ISO 306 and ASTM D1525 Test Standards.For this test penetration loads are easily selected via the microprocessor for use with the single loading weights of 10 N and 50N. The supplied cylindrical indentor test nib with 1mm² surface area is attached to the load displacement rod for sample testing in accordance with relevant testing standard.The apparatus is supplied as standard with an integrated solenoid operated cooling system which is automatically activated after each test. It can be connected to either a standard water supply or to the optional chiller unit for improved heat reduction. The integrated cooling coil ensures rapid heat loss back to start temperature conditions within a short time period increasing production.The self calibration feature of the apparatus ensures that the test results remain accurate. Unique calibration plugs are supplied with each machine which simply plug into the PRT socket for you to carry out the calibration procedure.     The Torsional Stiffness Apparatus incorporates a torsion head and wire that translate a twisting motion to a 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" long specimen.  Mounted to a rigid base and support post, the torsion head includes a dial protractor graduated from 0 to 360°.  Made of 0.010 inch diameter tempered stainless steel wire, the torsion wire passes through the center of the torsion head in a loosely fitting sleeve gripped by a friction bearing.  A fixed index pointer indicates the degrees of twist introduced to the torsion wire.Specimens are secured to the Torsional Stiffness Apparatus by two clamps.  The upper specimen clamp is fastened to the lower end of the torsion wire and is able to rotate as the torsion wire is twisted.  The lower specimen clamp holds the specimen in place which allows the twisting action to occur.  To accommodate the twisting action, the lower specimen clamp can slide up or down guide posts mounted to the base.To operate the Torsional Stiffness Apparatus, the torsion head is rotated in a plane normal to the torsion wire.  As the torsion head rotates, the torsion wire twists the test specimen.  Mounted to the top of the test specimen upper clamp assembly is an indicator that measures the twist applied to the specimen until the specimen has been twisted 90°.An optional Finger Control Knob provides an ergonomic design that allows for two-hand operation of instrument, permitting a smooth twisting action of the specimen.

SuspensionThe interchangeability feature of the matrix vessel and impeller within the reactor vessel allows the reactor to switch its mode from adherent culture to suspension culture.For suspension culture, the suspended cells in the culture medium are stirred using an impeller. On the other hand, adherent cells are cultured by attaching to carriers, BIO Noc™II, which are contained in the matrix vessel.
