The htc range of pumps are lateral channel pumps with open impellers. The impellers run between two intermediate casings of which one is plain disk with suction opening and other incorporates a lateral channel ending in the discharge opening, it also incorporates a small de airing channel. This principle has the effect of the handling medium being transported in a screw like manner from suction to delivery, this movement is accelerated with the discharge head increasing. The higher the discharge head, the more frequent liquid enters the cell of the impeller and levels on the other side. Between the liquid in the impeller (in the impeller cell) and the liquid in the lateral channel, a steady impulse takes place until the liquid leaves through the discharge opening.
