OCCP Orientation Course
Eligibility The candidates should have passed 10th or 12th Standard exam from a recognized board with minimum of 40% marks in aggregate. The candidate should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard examination from a recognized board/University. A Degree or Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, or Hotel Management & Catering Technology, or Catering or Culinary Arts or Hospitality and Tourism, of minimum six months duration from an Institution duly recognized by the State Boards / UGC approved University or approved by the National Council For Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMC) or AICTE Age Limit 18 to 28 years as on the date of commencement of the course Physical Standards Medical fitness certificate from DG Approved doctor under M.S (Medical Examination) Rule 2000 as amended. Gp rating the duration of the pre-sea training course for general purpose ratings is 6 months. The course is fully residential as per the directorate general of shipping norms, requiring all the trainees to reside in-house. The course will cover all aspects of the sea-faring profession (deck and engine), which also include swimming, physical drills, workshop training, rope and mast climbing, life saving, fire fighting exercises and ship visits etc. Pre sea training for ratings will also include the, following basic stcw 2010 courses personal survival techniques (pst).
