Nipples are made up of comparable silicone rubbers. Pacifiers and bottle nipples made of the efficient liquid silicone rubber grades thus even withstand chewing by babies and infants. Like all ELASTOSIL® LR 3040 grades, the new liquid silicones cure very rapidly. Even greater tear strength is exhibited by cured products from the ELASTOSIL® R plus 4020 series. Two new solid silicone rubber grades from this series offer a tear strength of 50 newtons per millimeter, measured as per ASTM D 624 B.
