Dextrin is degradation product obtained by treating starch under carefully controlled conditions. Dextrin is made by heating starch in dry form with small amounts of catalyst. Dextrin is White or Yellow Powder that is partially or fully water-soluble, yielding optically active solutions of low viscosity. There are two types of Dextrin such as White Dextrin which has an appearance of the native starch and has solubility varying from 25-80%. It forms a soft, light coloured gel on cooling. The other one is Yellow Dextrin which ranges in colour from pale yellow to dark brown and has high water solubility. It is used to produce high solid concentration pastes. Apllications Adhesive Industry:One of the main ingredient in manufacturing of liquid and dry adhesive is yellow dextrin as it goes into solution instantly with a lesser quantity of water. For PVC, UPVC (PVC-U) pipes up to 6"(160mm) dia. Store and use at temperature between 5째C (40째F) and 44째C (1111). APPLICATION: Clean surrounding area of the leakage with cloth or rug. Cut appropriate size of provided flexible PVC sheet to cover the leak area. Cut the corners of flexible sheet in round shape for better bonding. Apply a layer of cement on pipe crack 1 leak area. Then apply layer of cement on flexible PVC piece, put the flexible PVC piece on crack leak area. Hold with hand pressure for 2-3 min. Let it dry for at least 4 hours before starting water. For better result let it dry for overnight.
