A Heatless Air Dryer consist of two towers, which, alternately cycle on drying and regeneration. Each tower is filled with a bed of adsorbent desiccant. When one tower is on drying cycle, the desiccant adsorbs moisture from the incoming wet air stream and the other tower is on a regenerating cycle, which, a small portion of the super dried air passing through the desiccant to pick up and remove the adsorbed moisture, which is then vented to atmosphere. The towers are alternated in such a manner so that Dry desiccant is always in contact with wet compressed air, resulting in a continuous supply of Dry Air downstream. The process is automatically reversed from one tower to another by a microprocessor based sequenced timer. Dryer must be protected against water and oil suspended in the form of drops or finely dispersed mist. If the risk for such condition exists, a high efficiency pre-filter must be installed before the dryer. In regular course a ceramic candle Pre-filter is installed prior to the dryer to take care of incoming dust, dirt and foreign particles. By default, a ceramic candle After-filter is installed after the dryer to take care of desiccant dust carry forward in the dry air. The Pearl make heatless dryer is capable of providing a -40°C or lower atmospheric dew point and features a non-lubricated 3-way pneumatic switching valve. Refrigerated Dryers works on Heat Transfer principle. Saturated compressed air enters the Pre-cooler Re-heater (air to air heat-exchanger), where it is pre-cooled by exchanging heat with the outgoing cold air, which reduces heat load to evaporator. The inlet air is further cooled in the evaporator (air to refrigerant heat exchanger) to the required dew point. The cold air is then reheated when it passes back through the air-to-air heat exchanger (precoolerreheater). A refrigerant compressor and condenser supply low-temperature refrigerant to the evaporator. The thermostatic expansion valve and the hot gas bypass valve match the operation of the refrigerant system to the compressed air cooling load. In the evaporator, heat is transferred from the compressed air into the refrigerant.The process cools the air, reducing its capacity to hold water vapor and resulting in moisture condensation. The excess vapor condenses and is removed from the air system by a separator and automatic drain valve. We offer Heatless Type Air Dryer. Operating Principal: In Heatless Dryers, two vessel filled with desiccant are provided which cycle automatically, producing dry air continuously. In these units, wet air enters the bottom of one Vessel and passes upwards through the desiccant bed where the moisture is adsorbed. The dry air comes out from the top. A small portion of dry air is passed downwards through the desiccant bed in second vessel, which is under re-generation. Moisture laden purge air is then vented out to atmosphere. The purge loss is around 7.5% of the total air flow. At preset interval, the vessel changeover automatically, and Dry air is available continuously, without any surge. Easy Operation: This is simplest type of air dryer with Activated Alumina / Molecular Sieves drying agent. Pre-Filter is necessary prior to the dryer, as it removes oil and other contaminants. This actually protects the Desiccant from deteriorating, thus increasing the life of desiccant. The pre-filtered air then enters the adsorption tower through a 3-way diaphragm control valve. As the air flows through the tower the moisture is adsorbed from the wet air. This dry air then passes through the After-Filter, which removes any desiccant dust carry over. Meanwhile the other Adsorber tower is undergoing regeneration, with a part of dry air coming out of the tower under adsorption. This air is then purged out through muffler. The atmospheric dew point achieved is around (-) 40oC. How does it work? Rust and pipe scale deposits in steel pipes, increased resistance to flow, malfunctioning of pressure control equipment, corrosion in electromagnetic valves, solidification of media in pneumatic conveying systems, bubbling or orange peel effect in paint spraying are all consequences of water in the compressed air system. It not only endangers your delivery dates but quickly soaks up profits. Air drawn into the compressor will, depending upon the relative humidity, contain 60% to 80% of water vapour. Under compression, some of this converts to water and can be removed by line filters. However, as the temperature drops, water vapour will re-appear as condensation. Water vapour can only be economically removed by two methods : one is by cooling the air; the other more efficient method is by adsorption. The Puriflair range comprises of both Refrigeration Dryers and adsorption dryers. Refrigeration Dryers are used for application requiring air with pressure dewpoints to +2oC. Adsorption dryers provide a much lower pressure dewpoint, from -20oC to -40oC, at a relative compressed air humidity of only 0.1%.
