Outgoing dry air has (+)3°C Pressure Dew Point and comes out at around 25 C temperature. (+) 3°C Dew Point is equal to around (-) 25°C Atmospheric pressure Dew point. Dew Point: (-) 25°C is the best possible Dew Point achievable from Refrigerated Air Dryers. Lower Dew Point is not possible from Refrigerated Dryer as moisture condensed would start freezing on Freon tubes if lower dew point are tried. This (-) 25°C Dew Point is adequate for most dry air applications and instrument air requirements.

Saturated compressed air enters the Pre-cooler Re-heater (air to air heat-exchanger), where it is pre-cooled by exchanging heat with the outgoing cold air, which reduces heat load to evaporator. The cold air is then reheated when it passes back through the air-to-air heat exchanger (precoolerreheater). The thermostatic expansion valve and the hot gas bypass valve match the operation of the refrigerant system to the compressed air cooling load. Process - Incoming compressed air is dried with refrigeration dryer then it passes through carbon filter, pre filter passes through the slide piston valve assembly and is directed towards absorber chamber I where the compressed air passes through the high quality of desiccant. Compressed air drying takes place by absorption. Dry compressed air from absorber chamber I is then passes though the check valve assembly and then through the after filter to the transformer. While compressed air is being drying in chamber I the desiccant in chamber II where the desiccant has been wetted in the previous cycle is being simultaneously regenerated. The chamber II is depressurized to the atmosphere through the purge valve in the downward direction. A portion of the dry compressed air passes thrugh the needle valve / orifice plate through the desiccant and flushes out the desorbed moisture. When the regeneration is complete, the purge valve is closed and the tower is slowly depressurized to line pressure for a smooth changeover. Efficient dew point of - 70oC or better can be achieved through effective drying system comprising of refrigeration dryer and Heatless Air Dryer. When the temperature of air is reduced the moisture gets condensed and then it will be separated. Working of dryer consists of two main cycles. One is �Air cycle� and the second is �Vapour Compression Refrigeration Cycle� In the first cycle the wet inlet air with temperature 45-50oC enters the pre-cooler where it gets cooled by the outgoing dry air.
