In the process industry double window sight glass are used as an accessory in the
pipeline or inlet or outlet of equipments to view the process fluid flow. Traditional
double window sight glasses have the glass fitted between two flanges. Due to the
inherent principle of tightening of flanges (opposite bolts are tightened one after the
other), the glass by default remains stressed by unbalanced tightening torque from the
fitting stage itself. This results into breakage during fitting or reduced life due to
thermal expansion on an already stressed glass.
Also in the traditional way of holding the glass, both the soft gaskets on both sides of
the glass remains exposed to atmosphere resulting into the process fluid leaking out to
atmosphere on the instant of the inside gasket failure.
The capnut housing provided in the indoanushka make multiview for housing the
glass enables a leak proof tightened housing without unevenly stressing the glass
as the tightening is obtained by threading on the cap onto the nut and therefore
the glass gets uniformly and gradually tightened resulting into negligible or no
pre-stresses.

The deflector plates provided inside the multiview helps to create a vortex in the flow taking place inside the multivew.
