Air Flush : Pumping water or displacing humid gas with vacuum pump can result in remaining condensed moisture inside the pump. This remaining moisture can cause failure to ultimate pressure or malfunction. Air Flush operation is necessary to discharge the remaining moisture out of the pump and allows not only pump moisture to be displaced but also ultimate pressure to be recovered. Water condenses in compressed air systems wherever cooling takes place. This condensate must be discharged periodically. Level sensing drain valves (LDV) from Trident automate this procedure entirely, eliminating manual operation. These valves are suitable for all locations in compressed air systems like Air receivers, Drop legs, Refrigerated dryers, Filters/separators. The LDV valves are manufactured with the backing of Trident’s long experience with drain valves. They have been designed to eliminate all the problems that can normally be encountered when using manual drain valves. How they work These automatic valves are actuated by solenoids, which are controlled electronically. In Series LDV valves, the actuation is triggered by the condensate crossing a certain level. The condensate level is monitored continuously by a sensor. If this sensor ever fails, the LDV valve switches to a timer mode wherein the condensate are discharged for 2 seconds every 2 minutes.
