Quartzite is a hard , non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Quartzite is harder than quartz. Since the crystals of Quartzite are very tightly packed, and acquires a very hard, angular surface. We are having good deposits of Quartzite mines and the chemical properties are high in silica(Si), low alumina(Al), especially low alkalis such as NA & K.
