Shrimp Head Meal is valuable By- Product of the shrimp industry. Shrimp meal is made from material consisting of head and shells from prawns /shrimps separated from the prawn meat by peeling process. The shrimp head was cleaned thoroughly in water and steam cooked. The cooked mass is pressed to remove water and dried by using modern drying process, called flash drying, which preserves the numerous qualities in the raw material through to the meal.Uses : Used as major ingredient in prawn, fish, poultry feed. Good source of Protein and fatty acids. Also rich source of vitamins & minerals especially Calcium. A chemo attractant property of SHM makes it a good attractant in feed.
